My name is Jeff Wise and I played baseball for 14 years. I loved the game then and I love the game now.
The majority of all my baseball memories are great! My whole family played ball. My sister even played competitive softball.
When I worked for ESPN I played in one of the most competitive fastpitch softball leagues you’ll ever see. It was men and women and I had so much fun and I’ll always cherish those memories.
I have two daughters and I hope one day they’ll also play fastpitch softball. They are still young and figuring out what they want to have an interest in but I have a feeling they’ll play ball because little do they know…it’s in their blood!
My seven year old is in her first year of playing and she’s just a natural. She’s still figuring out the rules and the little things about the game though.
It’s so funny because she loves running the bases and every time the coach asks if they want to run again she’s the only one to raise her hand.
She works hard and that is going to serve her well.
Back to softball gear…
One thing about ball I love is researching, choosing and buying softball gear. Several years ago I thought that doing all the research for myself was kind of…well…selfish.
That’s when I decided to start writing reviews and sharing it with you!
Yes, I have a baseball equipment review site but I equally love my fastpitch softball gear website.
Long gone are the days of going to any old sporting goods store and finding exactly what you need. I don’t care what big name store is in your town. The best gear for you most of the time won’t be found there.
How do I know? Because for the past 15 years I’ve been doing the research online for gear, gone to the store, only to find they didn’t have what I wanted. It was a waste of gas, time and effort.
I also want to let you know that I found the prices and best deals online…always.
